The Gage Fine Art Story
Over 50 years creating custom fine art.
Over the years as full-time artists, we’ve come to recognize two primary approaches to art-making:
- The Independent Artist creates from personal inspiration—driven by their own vision, they share their work with the world, hoping it resonates and finds a home.
- The Commissioned Artist crafts with others in mind—collaborating closely with clients to bring their specific ideas to life, ensuring the final piece reflects the client’s vision.
But there’s a third kind of artist—Gage Fine Art.
David and Lizbeth Gage embody a unique blend of both. We are moved by the beauty we encounter in everyday life and feel compelled to capture and share it through our art. At the same time, we deeply value the collaborative process, working hand-in-hand with clients who have a clear vision and desire a custom piece that speaks to their story.
This dual approach allows us to create art that is both personally inspired and deeply meaningful to those who commission it.

Standing in front of a mural.
The theme of this mural on the exterior wall of a commercial building in Erie, Co. depicts the historic town of Erie through the years. The town started as a coal mining town but now is renowned as a biking and hot air balloon destination. This mural was our interpretation of this town’s rich history.
