FAQ
Some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.
While we love photo-realism and respect and admire artists who create this style of art, we consider our art to be more of a “painterly-realistic” style. Our goal is to always create art that is realistic, captures the appearance and personality of the subject, but we keep enough brush strokes visible so there is no question that it is hand painted art.
No. We follow traditional hand painted or drawn techniques to create our art.
You will work directly with the artist. Many artists today do go through a gallery or an agency which handles hundreds if not thousands of artist. We believe we can offer a personal touch that galleries or agencies cannot. Not only do we enjoy the personal contact we feel there is far less miscommunication when we communicate directly with our clients.
Yes. Dave does the majority of his portraits of people in oil, but uses both acrylic and oil when painting pets and wildlife. Liz paints in all three media and is known for her watercolors.
Our prices do not include a frame. Frames not only enhance the look of a painting but also complements the ambiance of the room where it will be displayed. Most custom art we create is using standard sized canvases, making selecting a frame much easier and less expensive than using custom sized canvas. Frames can be purchased locally at most Hobby Lobby stores or ordered online at pictureframes.com. One advantage pictureframes.com offers is the ability to upload a photo of the artwork and see what it looks like in various frames. We are available to assist in assembling the art with the frame for an additional cost.
